Why do you involve your employees in sustainability initiatives and what is the company trying to achieve with it?
Apart from investors, who are asking us how we are involving our employees, our employees themselves are demanding more and more climate action by the company. Creating more awareness among employees and giving them the feeling that they are not alone on this journey is important to Bayer.

How is eevie helping you achieve your sustainability measures and why did you decide to work with eevie?
We are running all our challenges on the eevie app. This allows us to track engagement rate and behaviour improvement of our employees meaning if they thought about turning off the lights more consistently and using daylight or commuted to work in an environmentally friendly fashion. We chose eevie out of all suppliers, because eevie is the most advanced mobile application on the market when it comes to the portfolio of business relevant challenges and KPI reporting. Besides, the team is highly responsive and proved to have a short turn-around time for special requests.

How do you motivate your employees to pursue the climate challenge on the eevie app and engagement initiatives from Bayer?
We have a very holistic approach to Employee Climate Engagement. Our leadership team’s variable salary is linked to executing sustainability measures and we all support our employees with a wealth of knowledge and activities. For instance by creating a competition and using gamification. We hold brown bag lunches, connected with the UN Global Compact and we even produced a TED Talk Series together with eevie, which was very appreciated by our employees.
